He was for many years instructor in classics in the Cutler School, New York
City. During the World War he served from 2 Jan. 1918 to 15 Apr. 1919 under
the United States Postal Censorship in New York City, most of the time in an
executive capacity, in charge of one section of the organization. He was
elected a resident member of the New England Historic Genealogical Society in
Apr. 1924.
